The British Collie Club open show

Thank you to the committee of the British Collie Club for inviting me to judge their well run Christmas Open Show. My
family and I had a wonderful day and thank you for making a fuss of my son Logan on his 5th birthday. It was a lovely
touch to give both us judges’ children “judges gifts”.
Veteran Dog / Bitch (2,0)
Two lovely ladies, who on another day could easily swap places.
1st – Cowling’s Koczkodan Serenity. 7-year-old tri-colour. Loved her overall shape. Head is good clean wedge shape, with
parallel planes, dark eyes of correct shape and size, giving her an alert expression. Good width of chest, without
cloddiness. Good muscle throughout, proved by her powerful driving movement. RBB, RBOB, BVIB, RBVIS
2nd – Benton’s Ch. Oakestelle Venus De Milo VW ShCEx. 10-year-old blue merle of clear colour and even markings. Great
overall shape, although a little narrower than 1st. Head is in proportion to body, with large ears which are lightly tipped
due to age. Correctly shaped, and sized, eyes. Body in fantastic condition, and well-muscled. Moved with power and
grace.

1st – Seagar’s Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack JW. 13-month-old sable and white. Happy and friendly chap. Head is
strong, with parallel planes and in proportion with his size. Nice dark eye. Ears good size and used well. Good length of
neck, and width of chest. Body strong with well-sprung ribs. Effortless on the move. BD.

1st – Benton’s Ch. Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle. 3-year-old tri-colour. Good overall size and shape.
Pleasing head, eyes dark, a nice size and alert, ears well-tipped. Strong body which could easily do a full day’s work.
Easily flowing movement with drive and purpose. BB, BOB.
2nd – Jerrett’s Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW. 19-month-old sable and white. Very pretty and feminine head, eyes are dark
of good size and shape. Ears used well. Sound on the move. Preferred body and movement of 1st.
